Teachers at State of Yoga (SOY) bring strong and diverse depth of knowledge to the classes we offer. Our diverse backgrounds allow students to experience the common ground of yoga with insights from complementary perspectives.

Sandrine Kamhi   Sandrine's journey to yoga began in Geneva in 2002, when she was working as a children’s rights consultant for an NGO to improve education and children’s rights. She immediately fell in love with yoga, and before she knew it, yoga became her life.  After years of practicing and studying consistently various styles of yoga, she began on her path as a teacher in 2009, in Istanbul, where she used to live. Since then, she has been completed several trainings in Vinyasa, Anusara, Ashtanga yoga, and naturally Jivamukti yoga to serve her students the best.  In her years of practice as a teacher, she is recognized for her warm presence, positive energy, attitude, and spirit; and she has been teaching classes internationally, organizing workshops and retreats, mentorship programs, taking part in teaching teacher-training courses, and now extremely blessed to have found State of Yoga in 2018.  Sandrine's classes, playful and uplifting, create a supportive foundation for students to feel balanced, energized, and confident on and off the mat. She aims to nourish and empower students at every level of practice. Sandrine Kamhi

Michelle Berlin   Michelle began her path of yoga many years ago which transpired into teaching in 2007. After a car accident created multiple spinal injuries, and her doctors told her the only option was major surgery, Michelle began looking for alternative treatments. Allaine Stricklen   Allaine Stricklen has been practicing Yoga for over 40 years, and has studied with many incredible teachers all over the world. She is a Yoga Therapist certified by IAYT (the International Association of Yoga Therapists) as well as a Master Yoga Instructor certified by the Yoga Alliance. Allaine believes that Yoga is for every body and everybody, and her mission is to help her Students recognize and release old patterns that do not serve a higher purpose.  Allaine blends her extensive knowledge of Iyengar and Restorative Yoga into well-rounded classes. Allaine is a Certified Scoliosis Specialist and has studied with Yoga Teacher Elise Browning-Miller, a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Allaine offers traditional teachings which address each person’s individual needs, with a joyous and open heart. Allaine’s presence will immediately make you feel welcome and at ease.  Allaine has created her own unique style of Yoga, called “Gentle Therapeutics Yoga, which is a safe and detailed method using various props to restore the body’s balance and vitality. Chris Borchetta   Chris is an RYT 200 and AcroFit certified trainer from Los Angeles, CA who is passionate about volunteering, wellness and photography. He aims to inspire people to help others and raise their vibrations. His vinyasa classes are a flowing class which focus on deep stretches, proper alignment, gaining strength and flexibility, finding space between thoughts along with how to carry this state of calm into your daily life off the mat. Sharon Aluma   Sharon Aluma is a Sacred Visionary Artist recognized for her intuitive gifts as a channel of wisdom. Born into a family that cultivates art, philosophy, ritual and personal development, Sharon has a strong foundation in a universal understanding of life.  Sharon came into her physical yoga practice 18 years ago through Ashtanga and has trained in several linages throughout her life. In her personal healing, she entered into a deep meditation path through shamanic practices. Through her meditation journey, Sharon began working with sound: specifically the gift of Crystal Alchemy Bowls. These bowls open frequencies on a molecular level.  Classically trained in the Fine Arts, Sharon has a unique way of seeing and sharing from an artist's perspective. She has held space for thousands on their road to embodiment. Sharon guides souls into the poetry of their bodies, their breath and helps them cultivate their intuition. Her classes are a full experience, each time you step on the mat you will leave transformed. Italian by birth, Giada grew up in different countries until she settled in Miami in 2002; a few years later her first encounter with a new world happened when she took a simple yoga class; the experience sparked a natural curiosity.

What began as a one time experience soon became the means of escape to a happy place. This was when Yoga started to change her life. Practicing more consistently she noticed the power and benefits of Yoga as well as the the opportunities afforded by this lifestyle to learn and grow while staying happy and grounded.

With curiosity and ambition, she followed her passion and completed her 200 HRS RYT training. As a teacher she strives to guide students through the whole experience, coupling the physical movement with a deeper more meaningful connection to oneself, one that is available to everyone. Her playful approach will challenge you to move mindfully, focusing fully on the meditation that is the practice, incorporating different sequences of vinyasa flow.

She remains a student on the long journey and welcomes the opportunity to share her passion for Yoga with everyone.

Samantha Ross     Samantha (Sunanda) is a musician, reiki master and yogi. She became connected with this beautiful practice of yoga in 2011 and found that it allowed her to understand the body and its movement capabilities in a way unlike before. She immediately fell in love with it and enjoyed learning about how to find inner stillness and peace with an overactive mind in this crazy world.  She teaches a dynamic flow that engages not just your body, but your mind and spirit. As well as brings a sense of love and devotion into her classes allowing you to find what makes you connect yoga.  She is best known for her strong buy playful classes, singing sweet opening mantras, and her healing savasanas. Striving to dig deeper into her own practice and taking it to the next level, she successfully completed her 200-hrs Vinyasa teacher training.  She started to teach adults with a lot of passion and her classes have become known to be a nurturing experience for her students.  Being a mom herself and learning about the great impact that yoga can have on our children’s physical and emotional development, she started to study and train in kids and mommy & me yoga. She always caters her classes to the age group she is teaching and builds them on the foundational principle of “learning through play”. Her classes are a unique blend of breathing, movement and balancing exercises, games and partner poses. She uses special techniques and props to make yoga accessible and beneficial to all age groups and abilities.
