Teachers at State of Yoga (SOY) bring strong and diverse depth of knowledge to the classes we offer. Our diverse backgrounds allow students to

experience the common ground of yoga with insights from complementary perspectives.

  Sandrine Kamhi   Sandrine's journey to yoga began in Geneva in 2002, when she was working as a children’s rights consultant for an NGO to improve education and children’s rights. She immediately fell in love with yoga, and before she knew it, yoga became her life.  After years of practicing and studying consistently various styles of yoga, she began on her path as a teacher in 2009, in Istanbul, where she used to live. Since then, she has been completed several trainings in Vinyasa, Anusara, Ashtanga yoga, and naturally Jivamukti yoga to serve her students the best.  In her years of practice as a teacher, she is recognized for her warm presence, positive energy, attitude, and spirit; and she has been teaching classes internationally, organizing workshops and retreats, mentorship programs, taking part in teaching teacher-training courses, and now extremely blessed to have found State of Yoga.  Sandrine's classes, playful and uplifting, create a supportive foundation for students to feel balanced, energized, and confident on and off the mat. She aims to nourish and empower students at every level of practice.  On Monday at 6:30pm, Tuesday at 10am; Wednesday at 9am and 6:30pm: Saturday at 9:30 & 11am ; Sunday at 10am

  Michelle Berlin   Michelle began her path of yoga many years ago which transpired into teaching in 2007. After a car accident created multiple spinal injuries, and her doctors told her the only option was major surgery, Michelle began looking for alternative treatments. She decided to take the lead in her own healing, and began studying and practicing Iyengar Yoga and Krama Vinyasa Yoga. Now her body is in great health and her mind is steady.   While in India , she studied at the Iyengar Himalayan Center to learn yoga therapy techniques to work privately with people with injuries. Complementing that avenue of yoga, she has completed several Thai bodywork trainings which she incorporates in her one on one yoga sessions. Michelle has also completed two sound healing therapy courses and threads in the sound element in all of her classes. Her passion is travel and yoga and leads healing yoga retreats yearly.   Allaine Stricklen   Allaine Stricklen has been practicing Yoga for over 40 years, and has studied with many incredible teachers all over the world. She is a Yoga Therapist certified by IAYT (the International Association of Yoga Therapists) as well as a Master Yoga Instructor certified by the Yoga Alliance. Allaine believes that Yoga is for every body and everybody, and her mission is to help her Students recognize and release old patterns that do not serve a higher purpose.  Allaine blends her extensive knowledge of Iyengar and Restorative Yoga into well-rounded classes. Allaine is a Certified Scoliosis Specialist and has studied with Yoga Teacher Elise Browning-Miller, a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Allaine offers traditional teachings which address each person’s individual needs, with a joyous and open heart. Allaine’s presence will immediately make you feel welcome and at ease.  Allaine has created her own unique style of Yoga, called “Gentle Therapeutics Yoga, which is a safe and detailed method using various props to restore the body’s balance and vitality.  Allaine leads Meditation Sessions, Workshops, Retreats and Teacher Training programs all over the world.   Radha-Krishna Lila   Radha-Krishna Lila (Cristiane Silva) E-RYT 500, first learned Yoga in Brazil where she encountered the teachings of Bhakti Yoga. At the time Radha was a professional dancer and teacher who danced in Brazil and toured internationally as a lead dancer throughout Japan, Korea and the USA. In Brazil she learned about the devotional aspects of yoga and the physical practice but it was not until she moved to the United States that she became more involved in the many different forms of yoga. Dance led her to move to Miami where she received her 200 hour teachers certification.  In 2009 she encountered Sri Dharma Mittra with whom she decided to learn from and received her advanced 500 hour teachers’ certification at the Dharma Yoga Center in NY. Born into a family that cultivates art, philosophy, ritual and personal development, Sharon has a strong foundation in a universal understanding of life.     Sharon came into her physical yoga practice 18 years ago through Ashtanga and has trained in several linages throughout her life. In her personal healing, she entered into a deep meditation path through shamanic practices. Through her meditation journey, Sharon began working with sound: specifically the gift of Crystal Alchemy Bowls.   Ruslan Kleytman   Ruslan Kleytman, ERYT 500, is a devoted yogi, gifted body worker, martial artist and avid acroyogi. Ruslan is a permanent student of Spirit, Life and Movement Arts. Over a decade of Ruslan's physical yoga practice, internal work of meditation and scriptural studies came to fruition with synthesis of Akhila Yoga system. This method embraces a holistic, scientific approach to yoga; by working on harmonizing, balancing, healing and strengthening all levels of being; physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual and spiritual.  Vinyasa krama on Monday and Friday at 9am.

Her favorite thing about biology, "functionally knowing how and why things work". After undergrad, she took her first yoga class and realized med-school was not her next step, rather yoga teacher training.  Teaching from a place of grounded presence, Brooke guides practitioners fluidly through a combination of fast paced and slow movements complimented by specific pranayama exercises. Through understanding connection to breath and observing the details in the complexity of a transition, students will venture into a deeper depth of their practice. Committed to holding a safe and solid space, Brooke invites students to explore their inner mappings and unravel through their many layers of Self while diving into a journey inward to the truest essence of their being; uncovering lessons that have the possibility to be used off of their mat and in daily life.  Overall what you can expect is a fun and uplifting community based class inviting a connection to Self and an authentic experience of being.   Chris Borchetta   Chris is an RYT 200 and AcroFit certified trainer from Los Angeles, CA who is passionate about volunteering, wellness and photography.  He aims to inspire people to help others and raise their vibrations. His vinyasa classes are a flowing class which focus on deep stretches, proper alignment, gaining strength and flexibility, finding space between thoughts along with how to carry this state of calm into your daily life off the mat.   His Acro Yoga classes on Sunday at 11am  focus on fundamentals, technique, building strength, personal connection and FUN!   Franci Blanco   Franci is a South Florida native that loves to surround herself with nature and is on a journey to “gently shake the world.” She initially fell in love with the practice of yoga in 2012 because it was a more enjoyable way to burn calories but quickly began to enjoy its therapeutic and mindful attributes as well. Through her corporate job, Franci has worked closely with nonprofits for years, and in 2016 embarked on a journey throughout Asia for 6 months to volunteer with multiple animal welfare charities, indigenous tribes, and environmental conservation groups.  While away, she received her 200hr certification at Vinyasa Yoga School in Rishikesh, India. During this time, she began to share her practice with other volunteers in order to unwind after a typically stressful day.  In a world filled with constant stimuli pulling us in several directions, Franci uses yoga asana and the breath to bring our awareness back to our bodies. She attempts to unite our mind and body, allowing us to understand our core and move forward with more balance and clarity.   Meet Franci on Wednesdays at 11 am, Yin Yoga class

While trying different teachers and methods Tania found a true connection with Skanda yoga and got her teacher certification in 2012 and began her own journey as a yoga instructor.    Tania is passionate about yoga; her classes are dynamic with an emphasis on breathing and the art of alignment, all part of the Skanda principles. She teaches yoga as a way to give her students a message of intention and help them contemplate what to take from the mat into their daily life.   Along with yoga, Tania has a true love for music, carefully selecting and making her own mixes.
